What Is Zorbing? That’s Why You Should Know the Crazy Leisure Activity

Suddenly the world turns upside down. Because you climb into a huge plastic ball and plunge into a crazy leisure experience that is unbelievably fun. What is Zorbing  and why is it worth to climb into a mega ball?

Screeching, laughter and then a huge transparent ball shoots into view. And in the middle of the monster ball, two people having the time of their lives. When a gigantic transparent ball suddenly rolls down the slope while hiking in the Black Forest, two Zorbonauts are just venturing into one of the craziest leisure activities currently available: Zorbing.

What is Zorbing?

To Zorbing alone or in pairs, you only need 3 things: 1 or 2 adventurous Zorbonauts, a Zorb ball and a suitable track. The Zorbonauts stand in front of an inflated ball with a diameter of a gigantic 3.20 metres and climb into the ball. More precisely, into a second smaller ball (diameter: 1.80 m) that is stuck inside. The space in between is filled with air or water and many ropes ensure that the inner ball always stays at the same distance. And then the Zorbonauts roll off inside the ball.

Inside the ball, you can hold on to straps and handles and get the ball going. Other Zorbs are designed like a running wheel and you get the ball going continuously.

Pure Adrenaline Kick – The Feeling of Zorbing

The feeling is freaky: in the water-filled Zorb you feel like you’re on a water slide that revolves around you – quasi water slides in 3D!

In a air-filled Zorb you feel like you’re in a washing machine on the spin cycle – and that’s an awesome feeling! While rolling, the ball bounces over hills and shakes the Zorbonauts vigorously, which is so much fun that we wanted to start again as soon as we reached the bottom.

If you roll down a zorbing slope, you start on a jump and then the zorb gets faster and faster. You fall forwards, backwards, lose control of up and down and laugh your head off at the expression on the other person’s face 😉

Zorbing for Two

Zorbing is still a young trend sport that practically anyone can do. Of course, you can also get into the ball alone or with your family, but zorbing in pairs has the advantage that the balance in the ball is better distributed and the ball runs more smoothly. Theminimum age for a zorbonaut is 14 years and you should be over 1.40 m tall.

The air chamber actually protects the Zorbonauts 100%. You can even buy your own Zorb on the internet, there are also Zorbs especially for children. But you should only start with the ball on safe areas such as plains or on the water. This way you can control the speed – downhill it is more difficult and you should only start on safe slopes.

This crazy leisure activity has taken off all over the world and there are several offers for this trendy sport in Germany. At amazon you can buy an experience voucher for zorbing for 29,90€.
