No New Year’s Eve party at home without traditional New Year’s Eve oracles! What does the new year bring and what do the stars tell you about your destiny?
What awaits me in the new year? Will it rain money, will an unexpected love surprise me or will there be a truly fateful turn in my life? What if you could catch an auspicious glimpse in the mirror of the future right now?
Fireworks, New Year’s resolutions and witty New Year’s Eve oracles are part of every good New Year’s Eve party. Everyone knows the classic lead pouring oracle, but there are several other New Year’s Eve oracles that are worth trying out. For all of them you don’t need much equipment, but a large portion of imagination and you’re ready to go.
These 5 New Year’s Eve oracles will definitely bring laughter, funny predictions and lots of fun. 🙂
Just what do those gummy bears mean in the New Year’s Eve oracle?
Fill a bowl with original gummy bears. The person who asks the gummy bear oracle blindfolds himself, blindly takes 5 gummy bears from the bowl and throws them on the table.
Each colour of the sweet future predictors has a meaning and the frequency of how often a colour falls is also pregnant with meaning. Now you interpret the throw together. Either you think of your own meanings for the colours of the jelly bears beforehand, or you fall back on the original meanings of the jelly bear oracle inventor Dietmar Bittrich. You can buy the book with detailed interpretations at amazon, but a slimmed-down version is also available for free on the internet!
These are – of course highly simplified – the meanings:
Before New Year’s Eve, crack the walnuts in half to make two empty walnut halves. In the middle of each walnut half, use a hot glue gun to stick a party stick with a flag as a sail. On New Year’s Eve, place a large bowl of water in the middle of the table. Each player writes down 3-6 wishes for the new year on slips of paper, which are mixed face down and placed in a pile.
Now roll the dice in turn and attach the wishes rolled to the edge of the water bowl with a clothes peg until the whole edge is covered with wishes. If you roll a 2, you take the second card from the top of the deck and attach it. If you roll a 4, count off the 4 from the top. The skipped cards go into a separate pile and are reshuffled if there are not enough wishes to cover the entire edge of the bowl.
Now each player gets a walnut boat and places it on the water one after the other. The wish that the walnut ship is heading for will come true!
Runestones are stones that have characters carved into them. Each sign has many meanings and you can interpret the runes in different ways, for example with so-called runic poems or runic ABCs.
For this New Year’s Eve oracle, each person in turn draws three rune stones face down from the bag. You lay them out in front of you in the order you drew them, from right to left. The rune on the right represents the attitude you should take. The one on the left indicates a possible clarification that can only happen if you take the attitude (rune 2 in the middle) and act on it.
Here you can find free rune ABC to interpret. Or you can do it right and look up the meaning of the stones in a good rune book. The latter is actually worthwhile, because these oracle interpretations are surprisingly often correct…
Each teammate chooses an apple and peels it. It is important to peel off the skin in one piece as a spiral if possible.
Now the players stand up and one after the other step forward, hold the apple peel at one end, swing it at least three times above their head in a circle and throw it over their left shoulder behind them.
Now you point to the shape of the spiral and see which letter it looks most like. This is the first letter of the person you will fall in love with in the new year or even marry right away or who is head over heels in love with you.
The sidereal pendulum is a tool that helps to obtain certain information about the future. Followers of esoteric teachings believe it can make unconscious contents visible.
All players sit in a circle. The first player leans on the table with his elbows and holds the pendulum at the end of the thread so that it can swing freely. The first player asks a question about the future, looking for a positive, neutral or negative answer. If the pendulum swings clockwise, the answer is yes, if it swings anti-clockwise, the answer is no. If the pendulum only swings clockwise, the answer is yes. If the pendulum only swings, the answer is uncertain.
Pendulums are one of the oldest forms of oracle and there are many people who believe in the power of the pendulum. If you want to do it seriously, it is important to use a pendulum that hangs in a perpendicular position. Pendulums are made of different metals, precious stones or wood – devotees also use pendulums made of different materials for different tasks. But even if you just try it out as a New Year’s Eve oracle on a whim, you will find out – it’s fun!
What, the New Year’s Eve Oracle doesn’t predict anything good for the future? Quick, turn once counterclockwise around your own axis, then the misfortune will turn into a happy direction! 😉
