Craft a toilet roll bunny as pretty egg cup. This is an easy DIY with paper clips and egg cartons and whatever you have in the house.

With upcycling, you can give everyday objects that you actually throw away a new life. And already at Christmas time, I discovered that you can make pretty decorations in a short time by crafting with toilet paper rolls. For Easter, I’m making two cute little animals as Easter table decorations that are practical at the same time. The cute toilet roll bunny are also egg cups and carry an Easter egg on their back. With the Easter chick, I planned that you can fill it with chocolate eggs.

To make a toilet roll bunny I used what I had in the house. You can also make these toilet roll bunny with children and they also make great Easter gifts for grandma and grandpa.

In addition to this tutorial for making a toilet roll bunny, this article also contains the template with stencils for the head, bunny ears, belly etc. to print out.

Almost done!

  1. Lay out the table with newspaper and paint the toilet roll inside and out 2 times with dark brown paint to cover it.
  2. Now cut out the stencils from the template or your own stencils and sort them. Place the large ears, head, 2 arms and 2 front paws on the rougher unprinted inside of the egg carton, outline and cut out.
  3. Place the remaining templates for the inside of the ears of the toilet roll bunny, the snout, the 2 back paws and the tummy on white felt (or clay cardboard), outline and cut.
  4. Use the hot glue gun (or craft glue) to glue the head and tummy to each other. Paint on the claws with a black felt-tip pen and glue on the hind paws. Glue the white paws on the arms and glue them diagonally to the belly. Now glue the white inside onto the ears and glue the ears to the Easter bunny’s head.
  5. Paint the nose and mouth on the white snout.
  6. Bend open two paper clips and snap each into 3 pieces about 2 cm long with the pliers. Poke three holes through the felt with the sewing needle, push the whiskers through and stick them on the back with hot glue.
  7. Glue on the bunny’s snout and wiggly eyes (you can also simply paint on the eyes) and glue a belly of cotton wool to the back of the toilet roll bunny as a little tail. The toilet roll bunny as an egg cup is ready!
