The most important ingredient for a glittering New Year’s Eve party is good drinks: here are our 10 hottest tips for New Year’s Eve cocktails and drinks to toast the new year!.
For us, New Year’s Eve is the unofficial celebration of friendship: while we, like most Germans, spend Christmas with the family, New Year’s Eve is then the opportunity to really celebrate with friends again. Often with friends you haven’t seen for a long time. Over the last 5-10 years, I have spent almost every New Year’s Eve with a group of friends who rarely get together anymore. The fact that the year jumps by one is almost a minor matter. New Year’s Eve is a great occasion for us to meet again and celebrate together.
And what would a great New Year’s Eve party be without good drinks? For such a special occasion, special drinks fit the bill, because drinking only champagne or sparkling wine all evening is something I really don’t recommend to anyone – headache hello!
We love really delicious, self-mixed cocktails. We also have a buffet to which every guest contributes something. It has often happened that we had several punch bowls, cocktails or cocktails to choose from, and of course you want to try them all and then… you get a headache, but hey, who doesn’t have a headache on New Year’s Day? 😉
Let’s see what delicious New Year’s Eve cocktails we sip this year…. Since we have always tried out some new cocktails, we have collected a whole range of new cocktail recipes over the year, including some delicious creations of our own. Of course we want to share this with you, so here comes our Top 8 New Year’s Eve cocktails and drinks best list, sorted by increasing degree of hardness… 🙂
You can also start a New Year’s Eve party leisurely: for refreshment and against thirst, beer soda is perfect – yes, even in winter!
Pour the beer and lemonade into a large bowl, cut the organic lemons and the canned peaches into small pieces and add them. Depending on how sweet you like the beer soda, you can add some of the peach juice from the can.
Some guests had to walk longer through freezing winter cold to get to the party. That’s why it’s always a good idea to also offer a drink to warm them up. At the latest when the feet freeze and the fingers get cold during the fireworks, everyone is happy about this warm drink. What could be better than a New Year’s punch?
In a large saucepan, heat the wine but below boiling point and add the sugar and orange liqueur. Peel and slice the ginger, grate the outermost layer of lemon zest and add both. Stir well until the sugar has completely dissolved.
BowlEven though winter has just really started – or maybe because of it – a fruity foretaste of summer goes down well at any New Year’s Eve party.
Cut the strawberries in half, roll them in the sugar and leave to soak for 10 minutes in a large bowl, then pour in the white wine and strawberry juice and add the lemon balm sticks. Leave to infuse in the fridge for at least 1 hour, then take the sticks out again. Add the lemons in thin slices to the bowl and finally pour on the sparkling wine.
Of all the New Year’s Eve cocktails, this one is certainly the visual highlight: the Tropical Rainbow, also known as the Rainbow Cocktail, Tricolor and Trinidad. At least until you stir it, the drink looks unbeatable and, of course, also goes great with a tropical or Caribbean-themed New Year’s Eve party.
Pour the orange juice first, then carefully run the grenadine down the side of the glass slowly over a tablespoon so that it sinks to the bottom of the glass. Mix the sparkling wine, vodka and Blue Curaçao in a separate glass and then also pour slowly using a tablespoon. Decorate with an orange slice and serve.
Herb, fresh and minty tastes the delicious Campari Milano, the ruby red alternative to Aperol Spritz and co.
Put 2 ice cubes in the glass, fill up with the liquids and place the mint leaves on top – done!
A bath in dragon’s blood makes you invulnerable, at least that’s what the Nibelungen saga claims. Perhaps this also applies to internal use? In any case, this creation of our own, which we discovered, is definitely going on our best list for New Year’s Eve cocktails!
Dip the rim of the glass first in lemon juice, then in sugar, creating a sugar crust around the rim. Then pour in the rum, grape juice and a squeeze of lemon juice, cut the grapes in half and stick them on the rim of the glass for decoration.
Extraterrestrially good: this drink we created under the motto “Extraterrestrial” tastes fruity and herbal and is refreshing. If you like, you can also replace the woodruff liqueur with creme de menthe, which also gives it a nice green colour.
Simply mix in a glass, add a slice of kiwi to water and loosely hang the alien lime peel alien tentacle in… 😉
It continues space-wise with our galactic sky drink. Open the gates to a new universe with this cocktail!
