Upcycling in Advent: we show you how to make clothes-peg stars as a beautiful Christmas decoration. It’s a really quick DIY for Christmas!
There are Christmas stars made from straw, from paper, from gold foil and from plastic – but from clothes-pegs? Yes, you can!
This tutorial is super easy and is also suitable for crafting with children. We recommend using larger clothes pegs for this. There are many more crafting ideas to browse at Abenteuer Freundschaft!
For example, you glue the stars together with a hot glue gun
Each clothes peg can be easily disassembled by removing the small wire hanger with hook. You don’t need it for this craft, you just keep the 2 halves made of wood.
2 become 4 shapes
The individual parts can now be glued together to form new shapes. We glued a total of 4 basic parts from clothes pegs in 2 sizes.
Now comes the part that is the most fun: you puzzle with the basic pieces and try out different star patterns until you find something you like.
Individual parts can also be glued with all-purpose glue
This part is the most difficult because the glued areas are relatively small and there is a risk that the star will stick to the base. Whether it works better with a hot glue gun or all-purpose glue is something you should try out yourself. We have worked with both.
The small holes that are created when gluing the base parts together are perfect for hanging the clothes-peg stars.
